Bookkeeping is Scorekeeping for the Game of Commerce, 
and We're all Commercial Players in our own Commercial Way. ​

If you open these documents below outside of a supported study setting and start to feel overwhelmed, close them.  There is no need to do that to yourself. Find a supported study setting and try again then.   

Doc 6 - The Small Business Bookkeeping Handbook -  This document expands on topics introduced in Document 5 that we told we'd help out with in more detail.  This will allow you to more actively asses the demo data in our Bookkeeping Template and it will position you for Bookkeeping Simulation Work and your own Bookkeeping work in a far better way. This doesn't "teach everything". It provides you with the key topics that go beyond income and expense categorization that are foreign to folks new to "scorekeeping for the game of commerce". Most of these will make sense as long as you think in context of "rules for a game".   You may need more assistance with these items later but this is a good start. We'll try to keep it updated.  

Doc 7 - Business Tax Forms and Charts of Accounts - This shows the 2022 tax forms for Schedule C. 1120s and Schedule E. The easiest way to learn about the game of commerce in the US is by starting with these Tax Forms, given they are the score keeping system.  We also provided comparable Chart of Accounts Suggestions for each and some comparative analysis. 

Doc 8 - Personal Accounting Snippets - the Chart of Accounts for personal accounting differs significantly from all businesses and we use an organzational system that puts required expenses at top and optional at bottom and you should order them by relevance or size of expense within each category. 

Doc 9 - An introduction to Business Entity Types  - Trying to get a straight forward understanding of Business Formation options and reasons to choose between a Sole Proprietorship, an LLC, an LLC treated like and S-Corp, an S-Corp or a C-Corp can be very frustrating. In this short book we try to provide you with a decision tree to help you understand things a little better. We provide some key insight from those who have played with a lot of these to help you clarify informatoin that is often otherwise cloudy.
